Wildlife Management Education Day in Burlington, Saturday May 23rd

Next Saturday (May 23rd) from 9:00am to 3:00pm there will be an Open Center Day at the Sessions Woods Conservation Education Center. The park will be open with a full day of scheduled, fun activities for all ages– there will be guided walks and hikes in the morning and a special art activity led by local artist Judy Bird in the afternoon, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Master Wildlife Conservationists will staff wildlife related activities, including a wildlife track-making activity. The center is located in Burlington, CT and the entire day of events will be free of charge!

“Afternoon Artists” every Friday at Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center

 

Drop off your 8-12 year olds for an afternoon exploration with art inspired by nature, every Friday from 3:30 to 6:00pm. Each session will involve hiking, observing, journaling and creating.  Opportunities to learn about specific artists and naturalists will be included.  This interdisciplinary class will be challenging, educational and fun! Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center is located in Mystic, CT. Sessions at 17$ for members and 20$ per non-members.

Daffodil Day at Wadsworth, April 26th

On Sunday, April 26th, The Wadsworth Mansion will be hosting Daffodil Day– An awesome event full of fun opportunities right here in Middletown! There will be trail walks, vernal pool explorations, kite flying, presentations on birds and reptiles, food trucks, a dog parade and other great family activities lasting from 1pm-4pm. There is no fee or registration required, and the event will happen rain or shine.

Birds of Prey Feeding at Earthplace Every Saturday

Every Saturday the Earthplace Nature Discovery Center in Westport, CT features a Birds of Prey feeding demonstration at 3pm– starring the site’s own bald eagles, hawks, owls and more!

Check it out this Saturday and make sure to enjoy the sites other great features while you’re there: 62 acres of wildlife sanctuary, hiking trails, and an interactive natural history museum. The center is open 9am-4pm on Saturdays and the birds will be fed rain or shine (or snow!).
