End a long summer week by the campfire at the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center. Enjoy stories, rhymes, songs, and the sounds of a crackling campfire on Friday, August 7th from 4:30-5:30pm! This event is ideal for families with children under 8 years old. Admission is free for members, and $5 for non-members.
Curious about what the animals at the Mystic Aquarium are like after dark? Head on over Friday night, July 17th from 6:30-9:30pm for extended aquarium hours to learn how their behavior changes. Enjoy a complimentary Sea lion show, a visit with the African Penguins, a Meet & Greet with the mascot, Petey the Penguin, fun hands on activities with other aquarium animals, as well as all the exhibits that are open during the day. There will be also be kid-approved food and refreshments. Prices for members are $24.95 for adults (11+) and $20.95 for children (under 10). Are you curious about the organisms that are able to live in the harsh environment of a tidal pool? Come to the Ansonia Nature and Recreation Center learn about these animals in a hands-on activity with organisms visiting from the Long Island Sound. There will also be a craft project and a fun story! This class is on Friday, June 12th at 10:30am.
There is a tuition fee of $7 per child, or $5 for FANCI members and Ansonia residents. This class is ideal for preschool age children and their parents! Be sure to register by calling 203-736-1053.
Van Vleck Observatory’s 2nd Kids’ Night is happening Friday, March 5th, at Wesleyan. This week the theme is Volcanoes in the Solar System! The event runs from 8pm-9m every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month. This is the last Kids’ Night before the Spring Break hiatus, so you don’t want to miss it!
