For a few days each in October, November and December, the night sky becomes illuminated by meteors or “shooting stars” as Earth’s orbit passes through a field of particles in space. The meteor shower is named for the constellation nearest to the part of the sky where it appears. Join the Wethersfield, CT Parks and Recreation and the Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Center for a meteor watching-party, recommended for kids ages 10 and up. Bring binoculars, chairs, blankets, and warm beverages if you like; viewing tips and materials will provided. Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is appreciated. Meet at the nature center. Coming next month: the Geminid Meteor Shower, Sunday 12/13 Sun 7-9).
