Stream Investigation at Session Woods on Tuesday, August 18th at 1:30pm

Interested in the streams that flow through our neighborhoods? Head out to Session Woods on Tuesday (8/18) at 1:30pm for some hands-on learning! This program will cover stream ecology, conservation techniques, invertebrates, and overall stream health. This event is free, and all children under 12 must be accompanied by an adults. Forest Pests and Diseases Walk at Session Woods Thursday, August 6th at 10am

Curious about the kinds of sicknesses that affect forests? Join the Friends of Session Woods this Thursday at 10am in a program where you’ll learn about pests and sicknesses right here in Connecticut on a walk to the beaver marsh. This program is free, and all kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Be sure to pre-register by calling 860-424-3011 or emailing laura.rogers-castro@ct.gov.

Butterfly Walk at Session Woods Saturday, July 18th at 1:30pm

Head on over to Session Woods this Saturday (7/18) at 1:30pm to learn about butterflies! Join Wildlife Division Natural Resource Educator Laura Rogers-Castro to learn how to identify the many butterflies in Connecticut. The program will meet in the classroom in the exhibit room in Education Center, then move outside to use your new knowledge to identify butterflies around Session Woods. Habitat Hunt and Hike at Session Woods Tuesday, June 30th at 10am

Head out to Session Woods this Tuesday (6/30) at 10am for a habitat hunt! First learn about the habitats and animals in Session Woods, then go on a scavenger hunt around the ecosystem. This program also includes a short hike to the beaver marsh (2 miles round trip). This free event is great for families, and all children under 12 must be accompanied by an adults. Be sure to pre-register by calling 860-424-3011 or emailing laura.rogers-castro@ct.gov. Wear good walking shoes!
