Tree ID walks at Indian Hill Cemetery, Middletown, Sat 10/24, 10 am and 1pm

Join naturalist Lucy Meigs this Saturday at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to learn all about trees at Middletown’s Indian Hill Cemetery (383 Washington St.). The 10 a.m. walk is focused on tree identification and ecology. The 1 p.m. walk is geared for families and will be a more basic introduction to tree identificationFrom 11:30 to 1:30 p.m., all are welcome to join in other activities (letterboxing & scavenger hunt) and to bring a picnic lunch. Forest Pests and Diseases Walk at Session Woods Thursday, August 6th at 10am

Curious about the kinds of sicknesses that affect forests? Join the Friends of Session Woods this Thursday at 10am in a program where you’ll learn about pests and sicknesses right here in Connecticut on a walk to the beaver marsh. This program is free, and all kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Be sure to pre-register by calling 860-424-3011 or emailing laura.rogers-castro@ct.gov.
